ABOUT US

Dr. Tayeb Al-Hafez is a Syrian American physician with more than two decades of experience in hospital-based internal medicine, hospice and palliative medicine across the western United States.

Throughout his professional career, he has helped develop and lead hospitalist programs and clinical initiatives in hospitals across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and California, with a focus on patients with complex medical conditions and serious illness.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the founder of the Global Health Equity Foundation.

Born and raised in Syria and later practicing medicine in the United States, Dr. Al-Hafez brings a cross-cultural perspective to medical advisory work. Fluent in Arabic and English, he understands how cultural, ethical, and family considerations often shape healthcare decisions across different settings.

His perspective on pain and serious illness was also shaped by personal recovery from a severe motor vehicle accident, which deepened his interest in palliative medicine and compassionate approaches to care.

Through this advisory practice, Dr. Al-Hafez works with families to better understand complex medical situations and navigate healthcare decisions with clarity, perspective, and dignity.
